James and his team always service my motorcycle never had a problem

I also watch 44 teeth and was surprised by the happy go lucky nature of the owner James regularly featured in their videos which motivated me to mention the short experience I had some time ago that was very different and very disappointing.I phoned to ask if they could help me sort out a fueling problem on my Kawasaki ZXR750L2 which I carefully described over the telephone; a bike I had owned and enjoyed for 10 years. JHS advised me to start the process by booking my bike in for time on the dyno, so I arranged to visit their workshop on the next available Saturday Morning. After an early start limping over from Swindon to Bristol on the ZXR I was reluctantly met by the owner who appeared worse for ware from the Friday evening before. My machine was wheeled on to the dyno and after strapping down was fired up and proceedings were taken to start the first run. The bike miss fired and wouldn't rev cleanly at all, in a similar way to what I had experienced over the last few months and during the long frustrating journey to JHS Racing. The diagnosis was quickly made that the carburettors were worn out and so the bike was immediately removed from the dyno, no physical attempt was made to try to investigate if anything could be remedied during my visit.I was then given additional helpful advice to buy a new bike as the manufacturers design the machines to fail over time in order for their customers to keep buying the latest model.I was left dumbfounded and the next customer was then ushered through and I was left to pay for my time on the dyno, consider my options of what bike I should buy next and the long journey home.

I got let down by my usual mechanic who had closed for the summer (without letting me know) after booking me in for a major service, and i was phoning round trying to find someone credible to do the service.I knew James from quite a few years back when he was working out of a small lock up in Knowle, and gave him a call.Even though he was booked out solid after i explained my situation he told me to bring my bike to him the following week and as long as i was happy to leave it with him for a few days he would squeeze it in around other jobs.So very helpful on that front!I dropped the bike off on the tuesday and got a call on the friday to say the bike was ready to collect.Collected my bike on the saturday morning as arranged and it felt taught like a new bike. It was overdue valve clearances and was starting to sound rattly, but when i started it up it was silent and smooth and all i could hear was the exhaust. All the cables and brakes etc. had been cleaned/lubed and adjusted and the bike was running perfectly.Upon dropping off, and on picking up, the staff gave me the full breakdown of what was and could be done, but there was no hard sell i was just given my options (one of which i took out).I have never known James to be arrogant, all he has been to me is helpful. Confident yes, but arrogant no, and even if he was he has built his business and reputation from scratch so has every right to be confident in it and himself.I do my own servicing & repairs other than valve clearances, but sometimes you need a mechanic for more than major servicing, and for all of the above i will be taking my bikes to JHS in future!!!Top marks for customer service & quality of work!!

Very happy with the job they done on my R1, originally booked in for an ECU flash I was advised to have the power commander I already had fitted to be set up correctly on the dyno. This has saved me money and got far better power gains than the ECU flash would have done on my particular machine. Thanks to the team for all your work Im very happy with the result.

2015 R1 direct ecu remap. After having the bike de catted took it to JHS as fuelling wasn't great. Sophie was very helpful & was able to answer any questions that I had. Booked the bike in & it was remapped . Gained significant power in mid range & top end but riding through towns & filtering through traffic the bike was awful & worse than when I brought it in . Phoned JHS the morning after & explained what was happening so the bike was booked in again a couple of days later. James & Will listened to what was happening, took the bike & checked the mapping, an hour or so later I had a totally different machine. It was bloody awesome , really. I took it for a test ride through the local town & it was superb , no fuelling issues at all. Their knowledge about these machines is incredible & although it wasn't cheap, this is proof of the pudding that you do get what you pay for. Thank you to all the staff at JHS for a great experience , would certainly use again .
