excellent property with amazing owner and outstanding breakfast
We staid at Claridges B&B for one night with our 2 daughters and we all really enjoyed it. Rooms were spacious and clean and beds were very confortable. We had access to the kitchen for milk in the middle of the night. We booked 2 rooms and shared a spacious bathroom located between those 2 rooms. Owners were patient and friendly, and breakfast was fantastic! we would definitely recommend this lovely BnB.
Work visit comfortable if s little worn. Massive room with en suite
First let me say that the welcome and the desire to please from the owners was wonderful and does indeed deserve four stars. The house exudes a warm and comforting feeling of age and history, a generous, no frills home for a gentleman farmer and his family, sensitively furnished and decorated, I felt at home as soon as I walked through the door.Sadly the accommodation came nowhere near what I had expected. Clean, yes. Roomy, yes. Well furnished and decorated, yes. En suite, no; not even a basin to allow that once proud boast of H&C In All Rooms. The shared bathroom on my floor offered one toilet, one basin and one shower to cater for perhaps eight guests; mornings at a busy time must be hell. In the bathroom itself three out of four ceiling lights were not working, nor was the extractor fan, although there was a tiny bar of soap on the basin and a towel on the rack for everyone to share. Back in the bedroom, a kettle, tea but no coffee. No bedside light, and barely enough light from the three tiny candle bulbs in the central fitting to read by if directly under it, let alone in bed. No bedside light switch, so fumble your way in the dark from the door, round the sofa and over to your bed. Wi-fi yes, if quite slow, but to plug in your device and get on line, sit on the floor in the corner behind the wardrobe where the socket is. I had expected much better than this, next time I'll probably squander the extra tenner and get a proper hotel room.
Lovely place, very clean spacious room and ensuite and a fantastic breakfast, wish we could have stayed longer.
